Insomniac’s Spider-Man PS4 Just Added Cool Far From Home DLC Suits

Insomniac’s Spider-Man was among the best video games of 2018. The title’s easy-to-pick-up mechanics mixed with its stellar design and heartfelt story made it a breath of fresh air for the PS4. It offered a thrilling experience bereft of all the moody darkness and violence that most games today rely on, and many of us have still been swinging around it since its release in September 2018.

That’s why, when Marvel showed off the handful of new suits that are set to appear in its latest film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, many fans were dying to see Insomniac release DLC for the game that allowed us to do some web-slinging in the shiny new duds. For a long while, it seemed that the game studio would not be releasing any further suits for its title. But today, Insomniac surprised us with not one, but two new DLC costumes available for download in tandem with the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The “Stealth Suit.”

We’ve got the black-on-red “Upgraded Suit” that bears a striking resemblance to the Steve Ditko character design from Spidey’s early days, as well as the black-on-black “Stealth Suit.” Like nearly all the DLC costumes in Spider-Man, these are free to download right now. The stealth suit looks especially natural in this environment, since many of the game’s missions rely on stealth combat.

The “Upgraded Suit.”

Insomniac released the last of its Spider-Man DLC story package back in the winter of 2018. The continuation of the game’s narrative saw more espionage from Black Cat, a mafia takedown of the city, and the super-powered mob boss Hammerhead. The DLC was received positively by critics and players, but many of us have been dying for more game content.

The open world of New York City in the title is still a thrill to swing through, and there’s surely more room for story to be told in that impeccably designed sandbox. But with the release of the PS5 now looming, it’s hard to imagine that Insomniac will squeeze in another DLC pack, or a sequel, before the next generation of consoles hits the market. That may mean it could be a few years until we see more of Insomniac’s Spider-Man.

Let’s hope that’s not the case. With the abundance of dark, violent, depressing-as-hell video games on the market, we need Spider-Man now more than ever.

Let’s block ads! (Why?)
