Philanthropist and pro equestrian Georgina Bloomberg was honored for her work on behalf of dogs, cats and all beasts big and small at the Animal Medical Center’s annual black tie gala on Tuesday night at Cipriani.
“As much as I appreciate this, I promise you I’m just getting started. And I will not stop until there are no more homeless animals in this world,” the 34-year-old daughter of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg told the celebrants including Henry Kissinger, Kathie Lee Gifford and Clive Davis.
Georgina Bloomberg thanked her mother, Susan, who was at the event, for teaching her to “love and respect every living creature” and about “the importance of making a difference.”
Mom had more sage words, said Bloomberg. “She also fittingly warned me to never trust a man who doesn’t like dogs — advice that has served me very well.”
